Welcome to The Consignment Connection

Hello to all of you!

My name is Pam Martin, and I want to introduce myself to you as the owner of The Consignment Connection and sub-divisions, Crafters Exchange, Kids Clothing Exchange, and Adult Clothing Exchange.  Here’s a little bit about me and how The Consignment Connection all began.

My husband and I have two boys (now adults), and we live in Smyrna, TN.  My career has been as a freelance court reporter for 25+ years.  I love organizing and planning events, and the idea of my first sale began in 2013.

I have a passion for scrapbooking, which is how the first crafters consignment sale (Crafters Exchange) all began -- with the need to purge and clean out my craft room!  As I was cleaning out my craft supplies, I was trying to figure out a way to earn a little money back from all the things I had collected over the years that I thought I needed to work on my hobby!  I thought…Surely, crafters of all hobbies must have the same problem that I have – too many craft supplies that they don’t want to just donate!  We began with just 25 consignors at our first sale in 2014.  We now have over 130 consignors each season, and we continue to grow every year.

At the time the sale idea came about, I was also working with a company that was raising money and awareness for domestic violence.  I also wanted an avenue to raise money for cancer research through my first event, as my mother was losing her battle with cancer during the time that I was planning my first sale.  My joy is in helping others, and these two fundraising efforts through my first sale are what led to the desire to open an avenue to raise money and collect donations for different local charities in our community through every sale that we organize.  We have worked with various local charities and have developed a relationship with several organizations that we now donate our remaining items to each season.  We are so appreciative of our gracious consignors that donate their leftover items to these organizations.  It’s the best of both worlds – consignors can declutter and clean out their homes, and items are available to go to those in need throughout our local communities.

At the end of 2021, we added a children’s consignment sale to our events to host in our local community.  This addition created the need to relaunch and expand our business model under a new name (The Consignment Connection).  We now have Crafters Exchange events, Kids Clothing Exchange events, and have recently added the Adult Clothing Exchange events, where we have a separate men's and women's clothing sale that also includes home decor.  We are excited about these new opportunities to help local families find great bargains on their clothing needs.  We are developing relationships with charities that can benefit from our clothing donations for those in need in our community.

These sale events would not take place without our awesome consignors and volunteers and our loyal shoppers.  It’s my pleasure getting to know and work with everyone each season.  My hope is that you find joy in being a part of The Consignment Connection in whatever capacity you join us, whether it’s as a consignor, volunteer, or shopper.  We are excited about new things to come!

Sincerely,

Pam Martin
